WASHINGTON —Ohio is in the top 10 in new annual obesity rankings that offer little good news, except to fairly lean Colorado.

The Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation say obesity rates among adults rose in 23 states over the past year and didn’t decline anywhere.

For the fifth year in a row, Mississippi has the highest rate of adult obesity, 32.5 percent. Alabama is second, and Ohio ranks 10th with an adult obesity rate of 28.6 percent.

Colorado has the lowest rate of obese adults, at 18.9 percent, followed by Massachusetts.
