COLUMBUS, Ohio—Two Columbus women said they were abducted at gunpoint over the weekend, but authorities said the incident was fabricated.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Alischa Coverdale, 22, and Angel McCallister, 17, told authorities they were kidnapped by two men.
The females, who said they are friends, claimed they were kidnapped at 9 a.m. Saturday from an area near Parsons and Southwood avenues on the city’s South Side.
They said two black males forced them into a green vehicle of unknown make and model and told them they were headed for West Virginia to be prostitutes.
The females said they were held against their will for hours before they were able to escape their captors at a Buckeye Lake gas station.
Columbus police and the Licking County sheriff’s office started an investigation Saturday.
Authorities said investigators uncovered evidence that disproved the abduction allegations.
They were arrested by CPD and taken to the Franklin County jail early Tuesday morning.
Coverdale and McCallister were charged with falsification and misleading a public official.

Also I would like to coment on the thing coverdale had to say about looking for excuses when its your self in trouble… Well real simple I HAVE NO RECORD SWEETIE, because Im smart enough to think before i act.. I know that if I make a dumb choice then who is going to be able to tend to the child?? Her father works 6 days a week to take care of us so if I get locked up who can he count on?? HER “Mother??“

Patriots- I thank you for the advice, and I agree. I would never say anything bad to my daughter concerning her “mother” or anyone for that matter, as you said In time she will see her self, but the thing is she already does!! For 3 she knows WAY too much and its because of how she is raised when she visits her “mother” she picks up her pretend phone and says “WHY WONT YOU TAKE CARE OF ME?“ that breaks my heart because she does want her to be there for her but she isnt taken care of so the father and myself are scared to send her!! But as I said I thank you very much for the advice!
Here’s a great theory, if you don’t want people to talk about you don’t do something ignorant and you won’t end up on the news. If you make a spectacle of yourself people are going to talk about you.
Kenzies Mommy - I don’t know you or your families situation, but I have some advice. Continue taking care of your step daughter and treating her like your own. Don’t say anything negative (no matter how obvious you think it is) about her biological mother as it will always come back and make you look like the bad person. As your step daughter gets older she will be able to see who the real good person is and who she can really count on. Speaking from experience my biological mom was a piece of crap, but my step mom was my rock. I also have step children who have a piece of crap mother. Keep in mind that no matter what you or others think of her mother, to her she is just mommy and doesn’t know any different…yet.
What’s going on here? Mike Coverdale is one of those strong Coverdale women? Does “she” have a mustache?
Well blah,blah,blah i am not giving you sh*t for taking care of the baby there is nothing wrong with that.The only thing i was saying as everyone has an opinion about everyone else when there in trouble but look for excuses when its them so think before YOU speak ,and you might be the step mom but you ARE NOT the mom so dont get that twisted in any way
I am not in ANY WAY tryin to make myself look better because honestly I DONT HAVE TO!!! To anyone that has a problem with what I said, that is your Opinion, BUT I AM THE ONE TENDING TO THIS BABY DAY IN AND DAY OUT. Doesnt matter if I am her mom by birth or mom by choice.. But I AM MOM!! And fyi Kenzie watches tv with her father and I so yeah she did see it and I didnt even know it was her, the baby did so think what you want!! as for being as strong as a coverdale woman hahahah I am a 23 year woman whom has never given birth to a child and I do a DAMN good job at taking care of her when her mother chose not to!! So either way it goes she should feel bad about what she did, and as I said if she would step up and be a mom NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!! As for coverdale1985 you dont know me so think b4 you speak!! And Mike and Patriots thanks for seeing where Im coming from!!
and no i was not ripping anyone else i was simply pointing out someone who was trying to take the place of her REAL mother and make my cousin feel worse than she already does and get real kenzies “step mom” first off i dont know to many 3 year olds that watch the news and if you cared so much like you say you did why would you let her?
My apologies, my use of the word “mistake” was not clear the way I used it. I meant this is something that these girls did deliberately and shouldn’t be just chalked up to a mistake or a bad judgement call.
I commented on coverdale1985’s comment because they were ripping someone else’s and then said that they “will never be as strong as a Coverdale woman”. Well if this is an example of Coverdale women, god help us all. This girl did nothing for her family name.
I guess we should call jerry Springer now.

PATRIOT- I believe that I, as well, am simply posting my OWN opinion. You commented on another users opinion with your own, as did I to yours. Is that not correct? Yes, I guess it is. I respect your opinion and I was not negative about it. I merely pointed out that coverdale1985’s use of the word mistake….used in HIS opinion was used within the proper definition.
