Man Arrested On Applebee’s Robbery, Kidnapping Charges

Grove City police makes an arrest after two suspects allegedly robbed a local restaurant at gunpoint and took patrons and employees hostage.

GROVE CITY, Ohio – Grove City police made an arrest Thursday after two suspects allegedly robbed a local restaurant at gunpoint and took patrons and employees hostage.

NBC 4’s Lauren Diedrich reported with the BOTTOMLINE.

Anthony Williams was arrested and indicted on one count of aggravated robbery and 19 counts of kidnapping.

The armed robbery occurred at Applebee’s at 2020 Stringtown Rd. on Sunday, Dec. 7.

A police report said two unidentified suspects entered the restaurant and took patrons and employees hostage shortly after midnight.

The suspects forced the people to the back of the restaurant and into the cooler area, police said.

One of the suspects allegedly forced the manager to open the safe located inside of the locked office.

The suspects proceeded to remove the money from the safe and exited through the rear door of the restaurant, police said.

NBC 4 cannot confirm information on the second suspect currently.
