Police are looking for a suspect whom they said robbed a Clintonville bank minutes after it opened Friday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio—A Chase Bank in Clintonville was struck by an armed bank robbery minutes after the bank opened its doors Friday morning.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
The Chase Bank at 3655 North High is in a strip mall with a coffee shop.
According to information from the FBI, when the man came in the bank, he immediately ordered bank customers and employees to the ground.
The suspect then went to a female employee and demanded cash at gunpoint, authorities said.
The suspect allegedly ordered the teller to put the money into a tan bag that he brought into the bank with him.
At one point, the suspect yelled that if she didn’t give him more money that he would “start blowing heads off,” authorities said.
Once the suspect had money in the bag, he took off out of the bank and ran northbound down an alley and out of sight, according to the FBI.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned male with a gun who was wearing a hoodie, a face mask, sunglasses and tan pants.
He fled the scene on foot.
Police were collecting surveillance video.
No one was injured.
The glasses and face mask made it difficult to tell if the suspect was a light-skinned black male, a white male or an Hispanic male.
