Ohio AG Fights Foreclosure Rescue Schemes
COLUMBUS, Ohio—Homeowners trying to fight foreclosure have been schemed out of thousands of dollars. Now the Ohio Attorney General is taking foreclosure rescue company 21st Century Legal Services to court.
The AG says the company charged $1,500 to $2,600 to help restructure home loans, but never carried out their services.
The AG also says the company instructed homeowners to stop making payments and to stop contacting their lenders.
The AG says several factors about foreclosure help should raise a red flag including: if the company says not to contact a lender or attorney, if the company encourages you to lease your home to buy it back or if the company offers to fill out paperwork or pressures you to sign.
The AG says never pay a fee until services are provided. Victims of foreclosure rescue schemes are being asked to come forward and report it.

Countrywide was pne of my lenders previously, they weren’t to bad, but then they weren’t very flexible..
Some aren’t, but here’s what I have learnt from having three properties and now down to two (one went in bankrupture). First is ,if you have any children, you can possibly get help from either gladen house or some other city agency for a months mortgage.. If not, then on getting money help I don’t know (makes sense try and be responsible with no kids, no help).
But here’s some ideas I remember try explaining to the company your having a financial hardship (say some thing like lost job, or lower income job taken) that way you can put in for a hardship, the lower the income making it hard for you to pay the mortgage, then they might get you a loan modification temporary or permanent.. Maybe.
Also you might take the way of explaining hel p you or they might have to bite the bullet on the house and get it dumped in their lap, taking a big bite for a loss.. And that you can file chapter 7 bankruptur(as I call it) noting they wil ltake a big loss and you will get out scott free (teh rock and hard place attempt on them from you).
Just ideas, and I’m not sugusting I know what is best for you, these are just ideas..
As for the greedy idiot scammers, just more slime rats that are to lazy to work honestly, that have no resect for others..Slime rats and greed go hand in hand.
i have just finished emailing all the local tv stations including yours on the subject of mortgage companies. my old company countrywide has been bought by bank america(lucky me huh)i spend an hour or so on the phone with them about my mortgag (i am one month behind first time since i purchased my house 5 years ago)due to a bad furnace this winter. after picking me apart they informed me that they could do nothing for me and i better not get 60 days behind or they will forclose. that was their help. nice huh? no wonder people turn to these phony places at least for a time you feel like someone really cares about you and there is no where else to go. mortgage companies DONT CARE
