COLUMBUS, Ohio —After reports of mismanagement surfaced, two people in charge of the Franklin County Animal Shelter are on leave.

Following recommendations from the county administrator, both Franklin County Animal Shelter Director Lisa Wahoff and Assistant Director Craig Turk were placed on paid administrative leave, NBC 4‘s Tom Brockman reported.

Tuesday morning, Franklin County commissioners unanimously and officially placed Wahoff and Turk on paid administrative leave.

Franklin County commissioners discussed the issues in executive session Monday morning, but did not take any actions which could include the firing of Wahoff and Turk.

While it is unclear how long Wahoff has been on leave, according to Turk’s attorney, his client was placed on leave after refusing to resign on Dec. 26.

Wahoff was unavailable for comment.
