Deer Runs Out In Front Of Motorcyclist
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio—A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a deer ran out in front of him Sunday afternoon.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Freddie M. Reedy, 54, of Rarden, was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on U.S. Route 23 at Eastern Avenue.
He struck a deer that was trying to cross the roadway. Reedy next struck the roadway and a concrete bridge rail.
The one-vehicle crash happened at 3:26 p.m., according to troopers.
Reedy was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Chillicothe post.
He suffered a head injury.
Reedy was transported from the scene to Adena Regional Medical Center by Scioto Township EMS and later flown to OSU Medical Center Main by Med-Flight.
Reedy remained still in serious condition early Monday.
Reedy was operating his motorcycle with a suspended license, troopers said.
The crash remained under investigation.

Thank you for the post ohiogirl7983.
Our son had been a victim of error re BMV driving record.
As a juvenile his offense was speeding.
A clerical error created a reckless operation offense.
It’s a huge difference when the government is evaluating one for schooling in nuclear machinery.
The error was ever so quickly corrected.
It is good to read Fred is recovering.

However, the suspension that was showing up on his driving record was a human and clerical error. Something had not been entered correctly in the computer system, and therefore was showing as a suspended. That has since been fixed ....
Okay, I haven’t commented thus far but now I am going to do so.
First of all, all of you are entitled to your opinions. You cannot be expected to pass a fair judgment when you do not personally know Freddy as we do. However, I am sure we all know what they say about karma and if that was your family member who was being commented on, I’m sure you would just as quick to defend him as some of the others on this board.
Second, I wish to extend my utmost gratitude and thanks to the bikers who just happened to be behind Fred, without you being there, we may not have Fred with us today. God truly sent his angels to be with Fred that day, only they were disguised as bikers :)
Third, the police officer who said that Fred was driving under a suspended license was only doing his job. However, the suspension that was showing up on his driving record was a human and clerical error. Something had not been entered correctly in the computer system, and therefore was showing as a suspended. That has since been fixed and proof has been shown to the inquiring parties.
For those that don’t know Fred, and are quick to make snide comments about the tox screens or the deer or whatever; you are gravely mistaken. Fred is the type of person that would do anything for anybody, never picks up a drink, always has a new joke every time you see him, and enjoys a nice piece of cake just like the next guy.
This was a freak and unfortunate accident but luckily Fred will live to tell about it.
Thank you for your support.
Saphire,
We completly understand and do not want to add any stress to an already stressfull situation. Feel free to give me updates on my emial I am eagerly awaiting good news. jtkshaw1829@att.net
Be blessed
Fellow biker & others from group,
The family would like to wait for him to be in a room and more settled before other than family sees him.
I think that Fred would want to meet the people that helped to save his life. He is a friend to everyone and everyone loves him.
I would give updates but I do not want to do it on here, as you can probably guess why.
I lived down the street from Fred for years, I grew up with his son and seen first hand how adiment he was about us kids and our safety. This is a man that has been riding for YEARS. Helmet or not it was a freak ACCIDENT. It could have happened to anyone (even the EMT’S that were behind him that helped save his life) Some of you people who have left negative comments on here should be ashamed of yourselves…your sick, and karma will get them in the end.
As for freds family, I dont know many of you, but I know freddie, his son and I am sooo sorry that you guys have to go through this. Ignore the ignorance these other people post on here. They don’t know you, they just sit at home with no life making fun of other peoples misery to make themselves feel better, and they need to get a life.. Just reading their stupid comment brought tears to my eyes…how can people be so cruel?
I’m sorry freddie, and I love ya. Your dad is strong and he will pull through this. I’m keeping you guys in my prayers.
Fellow biker & Junk runner jr,
Thank you for you for the nice and sincere posts. And thank you for stopping and helping Fred. Who know what would have been if no one stopped. It’s a relief to know that there are still good people out there.
43764,
I keep forgetting that the BMV never makes mistakes. They never mistype anything, or their computers are always up to date. Just because the news reports it, DOES NOT MEAN IT’S TRUE.
Saphire,
I’m so sorry that you have been subjected to such cruel and unnecessary comments. I was in the same group as Junk Runner Jr. and we were with your father-in-law within seconds of the accident. Our group consisted of three different christian bike groups. So, unlike the “Typical Profile” as one writer stated, we were all praying for him and caring for him until the local squad arrived. We are all concerned for Freddie and would love to read updates on his progress. Some of us would love to visit your family at OSU if that would be okay. I spoke with some family members that day on Freddies cellphone. As “Junk Runner Jr” stated, we had a couple of nurses and EMT personnel with us caring for your father-in-law. He was in good hands. God bless you and your family.
I wish Freddie and his family well, if some responding to this post had their way we would all be wearing helmets while driving our cars. Cause we all know your head may go through the windshield in an accident. Why not wear body armor? We all need protected from ourselves, now dont we. It is just crazy what length some will go to place blame and ask for others to protect them from themselves. Same people who have no respect for people in general making insensitive comments about someone who was injured in a accident.
Where was Grandma and her shovel?
