Authorities: Obetz Officer Shoots Suspect

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a local police officer fired his service weapon and shot a suspect late Saturday night.
OBETZ, Ohio—An Obetz police officer was involved in a shooting late Saturday night, according to authorities.
The Franklin County sheriff’s office was called in to investigate a South Side shooting incident that involved an Obetz police officer.
The officer was responding to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex at 2245 Bridlewood Blvd.
Columbus police and medics also were called to the scene.
The officer shot a male suspect who was believed to have been armed, officials said.
The suspect was transported by medic to Grant Medical Center around 10:30 p.m.
The condition and identity of the suspect remained unknown.
The circumstances of the shooting remained unclear currently, but Franklin County Chief Deputy Steve Martin confirmed his detectives would be investigating the incident.
