DELAWARE, Ohio—

A Delaware man is being treated for a gunshot wound to the jaw after a bullet came thru the wall of his house Friday night and hit him as he sat in a chair.

Eric Spires, age 34, was struck while inside his residence.  He was transported to Riverside Hospital in Columbus where he was treated and admitted, NBC 4 reported with the fast facts.
At the scene of the shooting Friday night, police were looking over a wooded area behind the home on Hull Drive.  Their flashlights could be seen in the back yard of the home where the shooting occurred.

On Saturday, Police Captain Bruce Pijanowski said red-colored cloth material was found at the scene where the shooting took place.  Similar material had been found in the Cheshire Crossing neighborhood on January 4th,  the Captain told NBC 4’s Mike Bowersock.

Investigators do not yet know the significance of the cloth material at the locations, if any.  Police are asking anyone with information, or those who may have had red cloth placed at their homes or on their vehicles to contact Delaware Police at (740) 203-1111.
