Youth Football Team Needs Money For Tournament
REYNOLDBURG, Ohio—Players on a local football team are hoping they have enough money to make it to their championship game this year.
The Jets team for the Reynoldsburg Youth Football League is hoping to make it to the Midwest National Championship game in Cleveland for the second year in a row.
They won that championship last year.
Players are between the ages of 11 to 13 years old, and some of them have been playing together for years.
Since most of the players will be moving on to junior high and high school teams, this may be the last time these kids get a chance to play football together.
The team still needs to raise $3,500 to travel to the tournament over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
“II want all my parents to enjoy this” Coach Todd Baker said, “With it being some of their kids last years, a lot of them have informed me they’re going to have to ride up with coaches, they can’t afford the hotel room to stay around the city of Cleveland, I want to make it special for all of them. If I got 20 kids I want 20 parents there too.“
If you would like to help the team get to Cleveland, you can send a donation to the RYS Jets Tournament Fund, 7584 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
