Body Found In Golf Course Pond
Published: July 14, 2009
STREETSBORO, Ohio—Investigators are trying to determine if a body discovered in a golf course pond is that of a man involved in an attempted carjacking on the Ohio Turnpike.
An employee at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Streetsboro, 24 miles southeast of Cleveland, spotted the body floating in the water Monday morning.
The State Highway Patrol says the body was dressed in clothing matching the clothes worn by the suspect in an attempted carjacking on the turnpike Thursday night.
Troopers say the man had been picked up by a motorist and there was a struggle inside the car. The patrol says the driver pulled over and the suspect fled on foot and was last seen running toward the golf course.
An autopsy on the body was expected to be done Tuesday.
