MIAMI—One of Ohio State’s top football recruits for this fall has been arrested by Miami police.

Buckeye-to-be running back Jamaal Berry was cited by Miami police on charges of marijuana possession.

According to Miami court records, Berry was arrested with 28 grams of marijuana, which would be labeled a third-degree felony in Florida.

His arraignment hearing is scheduled for July 2.

Berry, from Palmetto High School in Florida, was ranked as the fifth best running back in America by several recruiting services and is considered a candidate to get playing time as a true freshman for the Buckeyes.

nothing new if we remember the linebacker from a local school that took sex ed, music, and golf the be eligable. i think it was andy katzamore. really sounds like another clarrett to me. gifted in sports and nothing upstairs with some bad people advising him. reallity is if you are a prized recruit at osu you most likely will be in the pros. holmes is another one. im sure cops stop many “similar cars” to the ones they look for and dont lets them off. superbowl mvp is ticket for free pot use in pitt.

When it really gets down to it.. the real nitty gritty ... its about winning. Tressle makes a lot of money for winning. This punk is just one more cog on a wheel. Just like Clariet we can do what we want and get by with it. So Tressel will say we will wait till after his court date to make a decision. Why wait ?  The police didnt just pick him up for no reason and charge him for fun. He is just more trouble we dont need in this city. Probably cant add two and two anyway. Tressel doesnt have the guts to kick him to the curb.  How many chances do ya get ?  Its unlimited…

Why, Why, Why do these kids think they can do whatever they want to? I hope that Ohio State takes the scholarship away and sends him on his way. A four year free ride to play a sport you love and you throw it away for what? A little over 1+ ounce of pot. Stupid really stupid. We do NOT need him here to help our team. Let him stay in Miami, I see nothing but problems ahead with him.
