GROVE CITY, Ohio —As many as 6,000 marijuana plants were found in a growing operation in Grove City Wednesday evening.

The discovery was made in an area just west of state Route 104 south of Grove City by agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration after receiving a tip from a hunter.

A hunter with what is known as a deer camera was reviewing video in preparation for the upcoming deer season when he noticed people on the video going into a remote area.

He thought something was suspicious and contacted police.

The street value of the marijuana is valued at more than $1 million and it’s believed that this was the second crop of the season.

The plants were found on land owned by the Southeast Conservation Club—a hunting and fishing club. Police said the land is near a former Boy Scout camp.

“Once we got in, there was a big clearing—probably 50 by 50. They’ve actually cut trees down, had planted marijuana and you could just see them all over the place,“ said Sgt. Brian Davidson, of Grove City Police.

Police said they do not have any suspects at this time.

LMAO @hossua34

Search warrant for what? Growing cantaloupe, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and leek? Oh, I didn’t know growing vegetables was illegal. Maybe you could cite some reference on this?

Them bad old veggie growers got all the loot, huh?

You gonna pull up a wiki site as reference? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Nice try, troll. As Officer Barbrady (South Park) would say, “move along, there’s nothing to see”.

But please, do continue to taste your toe jam and tell me how good it is. :D

I mean your foot is already in your mouth as it is. Might as well go for the gold.

@anamerikhan - I take it that you are not well versed on the growing process otherwise you wouldn’t be making comments such as this.. And I quote:

“There is no way those plants are worth any million dollars…in your dreams…at the stage they appear to be they are worth absolutely nothing”.

As someone who is “in the know” would tell you, the process is a long and arduous task. It takes time, patience and a science to grow.

You have to obtain “quality” seeds. Not seeds from the “reg” weed (aka swag, commercial) that you by from the average user/seller.

In most cases you get them overseas. Holland, Amsterdam, etc..

Then you have to insure that the plants you are growing are all female. The males are what tarnish the “crop” due to the flowers pollinating the females causing the “budding” process to cease and the growth of seeds to occur. This causes the THC content to decrease making the crop worthless.

Then you have to take into consideration the medium you’re growing in. Some prefer soil, others prefer no soil. The latter being pure “hydro” (aka “dro”) because the method used is called “hydroponics”.

On top of that, you have to consider the room that you’re growing, the lights you’re using (MH - Metal Halide or HPS - High Pressure Sodium, each giving off a different light spectrum than the other) light wattage (say, 1000 watts per every four plants), the nutrients, pH level in the water or soil, nitrogen (if you’re using soil because weed uses up a LOT of nitrogen and needs replaced), the cloning process (unless you’re “budding” the entire plant, which would be a waste)..

Let’s not forget protection from an infestation from insects, such as tiny flies or spider mites. Air flow and control, heat (under 95°F), humidity (around 60%), light timing (18 hours of light for veg, 12 hours of light for flowering), how many times per day the plants are “fed”, whether or not CO2 is used in the flowering process..

All of that factors into the growth of marijuana if you’re growing indoors. Which makes the crop worth a lot more than those grown outdoors because you have more control over their environment.

Ergo you have a better yield which results in more cash to the grower.

For obvious reasons, the police and the media are not going to tell you the methods used by growers who get arrested because then that would make others decide to follow in the grower’s footsteps.

So next time you decide to comment on what you /think/ you know about marijuana growing/cultivating, consider the factors first before you insert your foot in your mouth.

I hope if they catch the poor folks that they have a good lawyer.  There is no way those plants are worth any million dollars…in your dreams…at the stage they appear to be they are worth absolutely nothing…any good lawyer who knows about pot should get this laughed out of court! Luck to the growers..

This is what I don’t understand.
You can die from an overdose of alcohol. You can die from an overdose of prescription drugs and even some over-the-counter drugs. You can die from an overdose of most, if not all illegal drugs, EXCEPT pot.

Why is pot illegal?
