oh, i so do agree.  I think any young adult/child needs to be held accountable for thier actions in that manner so they can learn to appreciate the value of our communities.

I got angry at the story of the boys caught on video destroying peoples gardens/plants yesterday.I am an avid organic gardener that works very hard to get my garden to produce(ha ha produce)and I find it pleasing to have flowers everywhere.
When they find these kids,I’d make their punishment working in the victims gardens so they can get a taste of the effort it takes to have one.

No doubt! What kind of thrill could it give you to throw rocks at cars? Lets use our imaginations kids and come up with some kind of non injurous play!

Laura i totally agree.
These boys are lucky they didn’t kill someone.  I beleive they had no idea of what could result from this behavior and luckily they learned before they caught a murder charge.  I will never understand the pleasures that some get from destroying other peoples belongings.

I had a neighbor whose sons were caught throwing rocks off of a train overpass on 270 years ago.Luckily they hit no cars, but their parents blamed a boy that wasn’t with them for showing them the overpass!
Their mother was shocked at their lack of remorse and failure to see what could have been the outcome of their escapade.
She was a dear friend of mine so I said if you are willing to accept that their choice was someone elses fault, then you will hear that excuse for the rest of your life.
Unfortunately that turned out to be true.Every time they got in trouble for something,it was the teachers fault, girlfriends fault, absentee fathers fault.
Personal responsibility is out of fashion today. There was no way my (now adult)kids could even try to say that someone else was to blame for idiot/criminal behavior.
Never had to spank my kids either, but they developed a sense of not wanting to displease their mom.
I used to say that I want no teachers calling on the phone(saying they had done something wrong)or neighbors coming to my door. When my kids would start to act up,all I had to do was give them that mom look!
My neighbor(aforementioned)would say how do you do that?I’d say they know that they better not embarrass me(and themselves) by behaving like heathens.
My children knew I loved them and wanted them to have full lives.I taught them they could partake in all that life has to offer as long as it’s not at someone elses expense.

Let the punishment fit the crime. After the trial, march them outside and let the victims family and friends throw some base-ball sized rocks at them.

All good points.  I work security here in CMH and see the complete lack of respect and good judgement every day. Guess these don’t live in a glass house or they’d know better.
