COLUMBUS, Ohio—Detectives continued to investigate a Northeast Side double shooting in which a man and his ex-girlfriend died.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

CPD and homicide detectives were called to the 2700 block of Gatewood Road on reports of shots fired before 6 a.m.

“When they arrived they found victims in the living room of this residence,” CPD homicide Sgt. Dana Norman said.

Both 47-year-old Joe Griffith and 40-year-old Glenda Murphy were shot once.

Griffith was found with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Murphy was shot in the chest.

She was transported to Grant Medical Center in very critical condition and died a short time later.

CPD said Murphy is Griffith’s ex-girlfriend and the incident happened at Griffith’s home.

Authorities said there were two relatives in the home at the time of the shooting; one of the relatives called 911.

Friends and neighbors told Brockman arguments between Griffith and Murphy were common.

CPD said the department has made a number of runs to the address for past domestic disputes.

Investigators said they were taking their time and looking at all options.

“Both of them have passed away now. We don’t know exactly what happened. So, we have to investigate and see what happened with the physical evidence,” Norman said.

CPD said detectives would be on the scene for most of the day.

No more immediate information was available.

This has nothing to do with South Detroit, thugs, gang violence or anything else associated with such stereotypes.
This was about someone whose life was taken as the result of possibly being stalked. Read about one of the victims and what a good guy he was:

Either a murder suicide due to a domestic dispute or maybe one or both were involved in drugs…

This is terrible. I wonder if this was a murder suicide.  I pray to God that I never have a mental breakdown.

Where do you think all of Detroit south relocated to?

Another day, more murders in Columbus.  I’m starting to think we’re becoming Detroit South.
