COLUMBUS, Ohio—CPD continued to search for leads or a suspect after a triple shooting and one death Thursday night.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

CPD was called to a home on the 200 block of South Wayne Avenue just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

The incident began when an unknown suspect and three males became involved in an argument.

The suspect produced a handgun and started firing at three males, shooting all three, officers said.

Officers found 37-year-old Ronald Powell dead at the scene.

Louis Jackson, 33, and William Fowler, 33, also were shot.

One of the men was shot in the jaw, and the second was shot in the leg.

Jackson and Fowler were transported to Mount Carmel West Medical Center and treated.

Anyone with information into the city’s 46th homicide of 2009 was encouraged to call CPD’s homicide squad at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.

At least there are people who live where they can afford instead of buying houses they can’t and foreclosing. Look at the mess that has created. Maybe the older neighborhoods wouldn’t be so bad if people still bought starter houses in these communities and worked their way from there. Even the house I grew up in on the north side is in a bad neighborhood now.

FYI, I live in Dublin because of low crime and neither my mommy nor daddy gave me a dime so I could do so. If I left it up to my parents I would be living in trailer in some dirt whole neighborhood with several illegitimate kids living off the government. Your way of life and where you live is no ones choice but your own.

They don’t live there because of low crime.  They live there because Mommy & Daddy’s money affords for them to.

They’re smart so they live in Hilliard and Dublin because of the low crime.

The irony of Jayb bragging about Hilliard and Dublin is that, in the sections of the westside/Hilltop where most of this crime take place are properties owned by absentee landlords who rent to anyone and don’t bother to keep their buildings nice. Guess where those wonderful landlords live…Hilliard, Dublin, Bexley….

Sorry January, but I guarantee there isn’t even 1% of the crime in Dublin or Hilliard that you have on the west side/Hilltop.  There’s more murders/rapes in a year in the west side/Hilltop area than you have in Dublin/Hilliard combined for the last decade I bet.

Dear Hilltop Proud,
THANK YOU!  The only thing one gets in Hilliard or Dublin is a more expensive drug!!!  It’s not that more bad things happen on the Hilltop.  It’s that 1/2 of what goes on in Dublin/Hilliard is covered up & not reported because someone has $$$$$$ to shush it!

It’s amazing to me that no one seems to notice the good things people are doing on the Hilltop, only the crime. The westside is NOT the armpit of Columbus. On the contrary, most of us who’ve been orn and raised on the Hilltop can tell you that, at it’s core, are genuine people who care about their neighbors. We have incredible blockwatches and neighborhood groups who are making strides in trying to improve the community. Instead of spending your energy bashing the Hilltop, why don’t you come and get involved in helping us revitalize?

If you’re heading west through Columbus, just make sure you don’t stop until you’re in Hilliard or Dublin…
