Police Investigate Car Break-Ins On Southwest Side
COLUMBUS, Ohio —Columbus police want you to be aware of a recent rash of car break-ins on the southwest side of Columbus.
According to police, there have been a total of 56 thefts from cars and 22 reports of malicious destruction since April 1.
The target area is bounded by Interstate 70 to West Broad Street and Hilliard-Rome Road to Alton Darby Creek.
The crimes happen during the overnight hours and residents in the area said they aren’t surprised by the statistics.
“I walk around the apartment complexes and I constantly see cars that are broken into, broken glass everyday,“ said Randal Barber, an area resident.
Police say GPS units, CD players, medication, CD’s, license plates, and cash have been stolen from the vehicles.

I heard some boys from the southside were involved in breakins when the BIG storms hit hard enuff to start up the theift alarms.. while they were off in this really bad storm these boyys wereeout robbing cars..HENCE IM sure sum ya remember how ur cxars were broke into… they used the storm to break in… and they will do it again in another large thunderstor,mmm so those of you who heard the alarms THINKING it was the thunder…think again..go out abd look closley!...there was items if gps.ipods.cd. radios…and also when them boats at buckeye lake got broke into… there was lotsa stuff for sale onebay from high street there,....many of the victims dinna knw who did it… but we dont even know who they were.. yet! they all habg around the southide of 4th st..n high..this I know to be true as when one walks bhind teens they LOVE to braggg.. so ya! I know excatly when ..these happened..and someone I heard even took a gun!...last years thunderstorms around the oz area..ya!...tell pll and they dont beleeve anyways..so ya..I sit and wait to see what else is happening..esp.. on high street.

If one is going to err when encountering a predator-thief, it is wiser to assume the thief is armed when not armed, rather than assume unarmed when armed.
I have a problem understanding labeling an armed victim as an “idiot.
IF an armed victim (AV) encounters an armed predator-thief (APT) on the premises, in the act, perhaps the APT is armed in order to eliminate witnesses.
An AV is capable of discouraging the APT and halt the APT’s mission.
If the APT stops all motion when asked by the AV, to “freeze,“ the AV can call the police.
If the APT chooses to move in a threatening manner, when asked by the AV to “freeze;“ the AV can call the police, squad, or coroner, depending upon the level of APT threat and the action necessary to stop the threat.

It amazes me the stuff people leave in their car in their driveway in full view and they leave garage door opener in car at night also. Here I am steal my stuff from my house & garage too and hurt someone in the house if you decide to !!!!
