CPD makes an arrest after the city’s second fatal stabbing in two days.
COLUMBUS, Ohio —An argument led to a fatal stabbing, and CPD arrested a suspect in the overnight homicide.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
CPD was dispatched to the 3300 block of East Main Street on the city’s East Side on reports of a stabbing shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers found 47-year-old Andre Darnell Bradford outside a home with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
He was transported to Grant Medical Center. He died from his injuries about a half hour later.
The incident started with some kind of argument or fight, police said, but the reason for the fight remained unclear.
“There was a fight in front of 3320, the muffler shop right here behind me, and that’s where the stabbing occurred. The victim ran across East Main Street and collapsed,“ CPD homicide Sgt. Dana Norman said.
Christopher Liggins, 44, was arrested and charged with murder early Wednesday.
CPD continued to investigate but asked anyone with information to call the homicide squad at 614-645-4730.
It was the city’s 48th homicide of 2009 and the second fatal stabbing in two days. Larry Heard, 58, was stabbed several times early Tuesday. That incident was on the city’s Southeast Side.

Part of reason grads leave Ohio has to do with the career opportunity compatible with the grad’s education.
Our son DID return to Ohio and work here. More college and an opportunity ripened on the West coast.
Our daughter DID return to Ohio and work here. More college and and career opportunities ripened south of Ohio, then on Long Island.

“... people wonder why college grads leave the state ...?“
Jayb - what are you talking about??? Columbus is NOT that bad. Businesses are not leaving nor are they staying away because of our crime level - perhaps the economy has something to do with that? What are you basing your comment on? I would like to see what research you have about Columbus’ decline.
An argument, a death. Another 60 day sentence?? Hmmmm…
I pray for all mankind. No matter what violence will lurk in every city in every state, and being negative is the wrong direction to head towards if we want these occurances to decrease.
MOVE
... as in:
1. move safety from “on” > “off”;
2. move round from breech > predator;
3. move fingers > 6455966 on phone
“Dead Animals
“Dead animals should not be placed in City-provided trash containers. The City does collect dead animals from public roadways and sidewalks. Call (614) 645-5966 to request collection of a dead animal from the roadway, sidewalks or city right of way (areas directly adjacent to city roads). This voice mail is checked regularly, weekdays.“
