Authorities Arrest 2 After Pursuit & Crash

Authorities take two suspects into custody after a series of near-miss crashes, a brief police pursuit, a crash and the use of a Taser.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Authorities took two suspects into custody overnight after a series of near-miss crashes, a brief police pursuit and a crash.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies spotted an allegedly stolen vehicle at South High Street and East Castle Road on the city’s South Side.

That was at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbus police officers and Franklin County sheriff’s deputies pursued the suspects.

Authorities said the male suspects almost crashed several times.

Authorities used stop sticks to disable the vehicle, and it crashed near Parsons and Frebis avenues.

Authorities caught the driver after he bailed from the crashed vehicle.

CPD said a Taser was used on the passenger, who also allegedly tried to flee the scene.

Both suspects remained in police custody.

Authorities did not release the suspects’ identities or the charges they could face.
