COLUMBUS, Ohio —A gutsy customer may have helped police obtain a better description of a bank robbery.
FBI agents said a man wearing a doctor’s mask, sunglasses and a hoodie jumped the bank counter at the National City Bank on Cleveland Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Employees told agents the man grabbed money from several drawers and a dye pack.
A customer in the bank began to slip out the front door and called 911.
When the robber got outside of the bank, he came face to face with the customer.
According to the FBI, the robber acted like he was going to pull a gun out of his coat.
The customer didn’t back down and apparently reached into his coat like he also had a gun. At that point, the robbery took off, dropping some money on the ground.
The robber then took off on a bicycle.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 614-645-4665.
