COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus police said at least five vehicles were hit by the same hit-and-run driver Sunday night.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.

CPD started receiving calls reporting the hit-and-run crashes on the city’s West Side close to 8 p.m.

Hilltop drivers or witnesses were calling in about a car that was banging into other vehicles and fleeing.

Officers caught up with the involved vehicle when a final collision stopped it and drivers were able to box in the white Buick.

The driver and a passenger were taken to Mount Carmel West Medical Center for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.

Officers told NBC 4 alcohol likely was involved in the prolonged spree that began when a bicyclist swerved out of the way of the Buick near Sullivant and Belvidere avenues.

The Buick crashed into moving vehicles in various locations along Safford Avenue.

At least five vehicles were damaged, but police said there could be more victims who haven’t noticed damage yet.

No information on the charges has been released.
