COLUMBUS, Ohio —An overnight crime spree left dozens of Central Ohioans waking up to a shattered, unpleasant surprise Wednesday morning.
According to a detective with Madison Township Police, three suspects drove up and down streets in Columbus, Obetz, Madison Township and Hamilton Township shooting at cars with either a pellet or BB gun. Officials said the suspects hit more than 30 cars.
Robert Wycuff, a victim in Madison Township, had the back window of his van shot out.
“I got up and went to the van to go to church. I got halfway to church and noticed my back window was out,“ said Wycuff. “You’d think they’d have better stuff to do than going around shooting at people’s cars.“
Wycuff’s neighbor, Jim Arrington, wasn’t a victim this time, but said he’s tired of vandalism in the neighborhood.
“It’s just a shame that you can’t have something nice without people trying to tear it up,“ Arrington said. “Everybody’s tired. We don’t have a lot of money out here. We just try to take care of what we got.“
Police are questioning three suspects, a 19-year-old and two 17-year-olds. Officials said charges could be filed on Friday against the three.
“Just the inconvenience and we have to pay to have it fixed,“ said victim Brandi Gaus. “I hope they get in trouble and they have to pay for all of them.“

community service as well!! Make them
wear signs telling what they did!! And
for the 19 yr old, put him behind bars
then make him do community service as
well, like cleaning bedpans at a local
hospital!!!
They hit a few cars right around the corner from me… I hope that they have to pay for all of the windows…
