Child Rape Suspect Accused Of Murder-For-Hire Scheme
Published: August 28, 2009
BATAVIA, Ohio—An Ohio inmate charged with raping a 7-year-old girl has been accused of trying to hire someone to kill the child and her mother so they couldn’t testify against him.
Michael Gray, of Goshen Township in Clermont County, was arraigned Thursday on two charges of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder. Gray’s fiancee, 50-year-old Mary Woodrey, was arraigned on the same charges.
Authorities say 33-year-old Gray offered $4,000 to someone he thought would kill the girl and her mother and that man tipped off authorities.
Attorney Cathy Adams is representing Gray on the rape charges. She declined to comment on the new charges.
It was not clear if Woodrey has an attorney.
