CPD: Suspect Invades Home, Punches Mom, Steals Car

Columbus police continues to search the North Linden area for a suspect after an alleged home invasion, assault and auto theft Friday morning.
COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus police continues to search the North Linden area for a suspect after an alleged assault, home invasion and auto theft Friday morning.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
CPD was called to the 1800 block of Eddystone Avenue before 11:30 a.m. on reports that a male in his late teens forced his way into a home, punched a female in the face and stole a vehicle.
The suspect knocked on the door and asked the woman if she needed any help around the house.
She was suspicious, and he forced his way in as she tried to close the door, according to CPD.
Her two children ran to the bathroom to hide while the woman struggled with the intruder, CPD said. The suspect allegedly punched the woman in the face during the struggle.
The children popped the screen out of the bathroom window and ran.
CPD said the suspect must have heard the children and fled with the woman’s purse, keys and vehicle.
The allegedly stolen vehicle is a Chrysler Town & Country with a license plate of BN67QC.
CPD found the vehicle at East North Broadway and Suwanee Road.
The suspect was armed with a knife and fled the scene on foot.
The suspect was described as a black male in his teens who is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 120 pounds. He is thin and has a dark complexion.
He was wearing a long-sleeved, zippered sweatshirt, black hat and jeans. He was armed, police said.
The woman was injured but not seriously.

If you’re naive enough to think that this happens only in the inner city, think again. With the number of meth addicts along with the crack and herion addicts, you had better look before you open your door no matter which community you live in. You are one of those who is likely to get robbed with your garage door and the entry door open also. It’s happening in the suburbs with sickening regularity and it’s being done by every race.
I don’t care how safe a neighborhood seems, no one should open the door without first knowing who is at the door. I have a porch enclosure and I keep the door to it locked at all times. If I don’t have that one locked, the security door on the inside of the porch is locked. I always keep a jack iron right beside the door in case.
I would think that on Eddystone or any place in the Linden area, people would be much more cautious. Criminals are looking for easy preys. Too bad she didn’t slit his throat.
WOW!! TasteTheReality, Fozzy42, and Diesel327. Ha! Itreally makes me laugh about how ignorant of the media you are and how smally open minded you sound. First off, the title keeps the news story short and to the point; it invloves a suspect, invasion, a mother, a punch, and a stolen car. It doesn’t need to contain correct grammar and posession to catch the reader’s interest because it obviously did yours if you’re seriously spending your time on this story.
It’s really amusing how you guys have to make this a matter of race, when the reality is it’s just the matter of fact; the fact that no matter what the color skin of the suspect, it is what it is. Stop living in the past, the only reason racism is still around is because of people like you who are so single and empty minded enough to keep it around. So TasteTheReailty needs to seriously take in a big dose of REALITY.
Just as Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.“ Just remember Rev. King wasn’t just preaching about equality to the white crowd, but to the black crowd as well. And you guys are the perfect example of the quote above. You’re definitely ignorant of the fact which causes you to make the stupid comments you’ve made.
And just so I can prove that I can back up all that I’ve said, I know the victims here, for over 10 years. FACT: they’ve tried moving, but who’s fault is it that nobody wants to buy a house in what you call the “ghetto”. Sweetie, you wanna know what the real ghetto is like because living in Columbus is nothing like the real “ghettos” in Chicago , NYC, Maryland , etc. Another thing just shut up with all the nonsense about selling drugs and going to college. FACT: These people have real jobs which under the U.S. Constitution, State, and Federal Laws would define them as more than perfectly legal. These people have educations,value it, and install it in their children. FACT: the eldest daughter graduated with me as Valedictorian of her high school class along with an Associate’s Degree of Computer Networking from DeVry University , all at the age of 18. The other children are still in school getting that education.
This family cares the world about one another and others. It’s a shame that an economy like this and ignorant comments like yours has to be a burden on them. Race and status are not the issue, it’s the matter of “fact” that a good family had to fall victim to a crude criminal…... And you’re on his side???

how else are they going to make enough to move out the “ghetto” with the costs of water, electric, gas and trach pick-up on the rise. plus they have to rent something to move the stuff. Oh and living in a nice neighborhood requires you to acquire home insurance. plus thye may want to attend college so they can eventually live legally. if they don’t do it according to my suggestion, who knows how many times their poor mother may have to face incidents like this one.
TASTE - that would be smart on their end but why do they have to make money the illegal way?

hahaha grimm reaper, my, my, my. i see white boys breaking into everything, as a matter of fact i had to shoot in the air the other day to give the two white boys a warning, and they are lucky the took heed and got the heck away from car, because the next shot was going to be target practice. sad thing is that they would’ve have most likely gotten away because they were targeted for being in a “so called” black neighborhood.
