COLUMBUS, Ohio—A former member of Governor Strickland’s cabinet soon will be headed to prison on charges related to prostitution.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
Robert Eric McFadden was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 14, after police said he helped promote an online prostitution ring.
Columbus vice detectives said McFadden was the “guru” of Columbus prostitution and ran Web Sites that evaluated local prostitutes.
McFadden of Dublin was sentenced on two felony charges of compelling prostitution of a minor Thursday.
McFadden was sentenced to one year in prison after he pleaded guilty to the charges a month ago. He also must register as a Tier-II sexual offender for the next 25 years.
The 46-year-old was arrested for posting pictures he took of a 17-year-old girl on Craigslist to promote her as a prostitute.
“January 14th, the day I was arrested, was a miracle. It had to happen,” McFadden said in court.
“My actions have caused great grief not only for my family and my friends but have had a ripple effect into the community,” he said.
McFadden also explained how his recently discovered bipolar disorder and sex addiction might have contributed to his actions.
“Since then, I’ve sought help and received treatment for my sex addiction and for my bipolar disorder. I don’t offer either one of those as an excuse for my actions,” McFadden said.
McFadden formerly served as director of the Faith-Based and Community Initiatives office under Gov. Ted Strickland. He was transferred to the state prisons department in 2007 and laid off in March 2008 due to budget cuts.
He faced up to 10 years in prison.
McFadden must turn himself in for incarceration by Thursday, Aug. 20.

Further, After Strickland and his staff ushered him off the premises knowing he was a threat, they empowered him politically by shuffling him into the Hillary Clinton political machine.
I’m about to file a complaint with the Office of the Inspector General - and, hand everything I have over to Strickand’s political opponents. The poop has yet to hit the fan.
Well, now - hold on just a minute here.
I completely agree that this kind of behavior isn’t Democrat or Republican - but saying his behavior isn’t tied into politics is just not true.
Governor Strickland was notified a year prior to getting caught by the police that McFadden was a pervert sociopath. I filed a complaint and in fact told them to check his internet traffic.
Guess what?
He was gone within 24 hours of my suggestion that they check his internet traffic. The pervert sex posts have several time and date stamps that indicate they were posted during work hours when he should have been sitting at his desk at Strickland’s office.
People this story is about a pervert pimp exploiting underaged girls. It has nothing to do with politics so take your stupid liberal/conservative squabbles to another forum.
How intelligent and mature.
Gotta love the Dems…If they cant get kids aborted then they pimp them when the kids hit teenage years.
To illustrate the point that there is no monopoly on morality, here is a snippet of the long list of republican figures who have totally contradicted the talking points of the organization.
Mark Foley (sex scandal), Larry Craig (airport bathroom come-on), Newt Gingrich (affair with aide), David Vitter (with the DC Madam), John Ensign (affair), Mark Sanford (huge affair and cover-up), Ken Calvert (caught with prostitute), Philip Giordano (pedophilia), Rush Limbaugh (drug abuse), Jeff Miller (Affair), etc, etc, etc….
Idiots are everywhere, folks. Political party and affiliation does not ensure quality. This dude from Dublin is a sicko, and the Dems have undoubtedly had their share of ‘em… but to do the us vs them game because of it is a bit childish - no - IGNORANT.
Oh,I forgot… the republicans have a huge monopoly on morality… oh wait… they seem to keep getting caught in national-level sex scandals. Crap.
My how appropriate that (same) is attacking me as opposed to defending the constitution and the law of this land. What about the criminal who compelled a minor in prostitution and gets off with only a one year sentence?
To williams1—Blah, Blah Blah—go watch more Fox, Glenn Beck, Hannity and more venom. Shame on YOU!
In response….you will be known by those that you associate yourself with! example…if you are hanging out with drug dealers, murderers or pimps, and you are not a prison guard what would others perceive about you? reality check
