JACKSON, Ohio- A 74-year-old southern Ohio man has pleaded guilty to hiring someone to kill his wife in their farmhouse last spring.
David Evans Sr. of Jackson pleaded guilty Friday to conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.
He had originally pleaded not guilty to charges including murder in the death of Carol Evans. His attorney, Rick Faulkner, says he is confident a judge will OK the plea deal.
Another man has admitted to strangling the woman and is serving an 18-year prison sentence. He had been prepared to testify against David Evans.
Evans faces up to 20 years in prison. No sentencing date has been set.
