A teen father pleads guilty in his infant daughter’s death and is sentenced.
MARION, Ohio—A teen father pleaded guilty in his infant daughter’s death and was sentenced.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Thursday.
Teddy G. Thomas, III, took 3-month-old Skylar Thomas to the Marion General ER with serious injuries Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.
Thomas told ER staff Skylar fell out of bed onto a carpeted floor. Doctors noticed severe head and torso injuries. Doctors said her injuries were not consistent with the father’s story.
The infant’s injuries were so serious she was flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and listed in serious condition with life-threatening injures.
Marion police launched an investigation into how the infant’s injuries occurred.
As a result, Thomas was arrested on a probation violation from a previous aggravated assault case.
The infant died from her injures Sunday, Nov, 23, 2008.
Thomas pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter last week and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Ten years is the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter.
Marion County Children Services removed Skylar’s twin brother from the home right after charges were forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office.
The twins’ mother is a juvenile and hasn’t been charged.

I hope Teddy G. Thomas, III has a lot of boyfriends in prison. Ten years isn’t nearly long enough.
