BEDFORD, Ohio—The singer of the 1980s hit “Hungry Eyes” has been sentenced to one month in jail by a suburban Cleveland judge after he pleaded no contest to drunken driving and failing to control his car.

Bedford Municipal Court Judge Peter Junkin on Wednesday ordered Eric Carmen to report to jail on April 25.

Carmen was the lead singer of the Raspberries, a 1970s pop band that scored its biggest hit with “Go All the Way.“ He’s also had a productive solo career, releasing “All By Myself” in 1975 and “Hungry Eyes” for the 1987 “Dirty Dancing” movie soundtrack.

Carmen, who lives in suburban Gates Mills, was arrested Sept. 9 after crashing into a fire hydrant. Police say his blood-alcohol level was at .234 percent, almost three times the legal limit.
