Police: 1 Killed In East-Side Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s east side that left one person dead.

COLUMBUS, Ohio —The Columbus Division of Police Homicide Detectives are on the scene of a shooting on the east side.

Police said the shooting occurred on Forest Street at about 11:40 a.m., NBC 4 reported.

NBC 4 crews on the scene confirmed that one person was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition where they were pronounced dead.  Detectives tell NBC 4 crews, Kendall W. Freeman, 40 died as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest.
