Local Man Charged With 13 Felonies, Violations After Wrong-Way Crash
Published: October 12, 2009
SEAFORD, Del.—Delaware State Police say a 20-year-old Ohio man is facing drunken driving charges after his van crashed into a pickup truck as he drove the wrong way on a highway.
A Chevrolet Venture was spotted going the wrong way on U.S. Route 13 in Seaford early Saturday and police say the driver, 20-year-old Travieso Moises of Columbus, Ohio, took off when an officer turned on his emergency lights and siren.
Another officer put stop sticks on the highway and police say that slowed the van, but a Dodge Dakota that pulled to the side and stopped as the Venture approached was hit.
Police say Moises and three people in the truck suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Moises was charged with driving under the influence, vehicular assault and 11 other felonies and traffic violations.
