Authorities make a traffic stop and find 1,000 ecstasy pills hidden inside the vehicle.
DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio—A local man is arrested after law enforcement allegedly found 1,000 ecstasy pills hidden inside his vehicle.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s office, the traffic stop occurred on Polaris Parkway near Sancus Blvd. on Oct. 14 just before 6:30 p.m.
Chris Johnson, 32, is charged with aggravated trafficking and felony drug abuse.
Investigators said they found the ecstasy hidden inside the dashboard of the vehicle.
“Johnson had 1,000 ecstasy pills in his vehicle. We fully believe he intended to sell them in Delaware County,“ said Sheriff Walter L. Davis III. “This is the latest example of how out-of-town drug dealers are bringing poison and crime into Delaware County. We are committed to stopping them before the drugs reach our citizens, especially our children.
“We need to be vigilant across the entire county, but especially in the southern portion since crime trends show much of the illegal drugs are coming from our south.“
Johnson was arraigned Thursday and his bail was set at $15,000 cash or surety. He bonded out of the Delaware County Jail late Thursday afternoon.

The cop probably called a K-9 officer. I can only assume that when he was stopped that something else was found, perhaps a gun or knife.. possibly other drugs. They said he was charged with felony drug abuse too.. they can tell when you are high, cops aren’t dummies when they see it all the time. They suspect you are hiding drugs,,they bring the pooches in.. they find it, bingo.. your busted.
Good point mjw357, it just says “traffic stop” Pretty sure they need a reason to rip open your dashboard. Not that I agree with selling Ecstasy….
How did the police know the drugs were hidden in the dashboard? Did he tell them?
ooooh…. ouch… dude, you just got caught with the wrong candy! Those aren’t Mentos!
