Why the difference in sentence? The guy in Alabama who beat his uncle with a frying pan had three prior felony convictions. I don’t know a whole lot about criminal law, but a lot of states have 3 strikes laws which can yield a minimum life sentence if you are convicted of a third felony charge. I would assume that the prior convictions are the main reason for his sentence.
It does seem weird. Who does this guy know or what does he know to get such a slack sentence??? Justice must be peeking.
How is it that this guy kills someone and gets 15 to life, with a 3 year gun specification, but the guy who hit his uncle with a frying pan gets 20 years?
