Dear Donna,
“Disputing” is not a word.
I am just curious Useurhead, do u live in this neighborhood as well?
I am clueless, this area is part of my nieghborhood and I do not consider it “GHETTO”. That is what I said. There are violent crimes all over the city of columbus and yes i get offended when my community is labeled “GHETTO”. I understand that my neighborhood may not be considered as peaceful as others think thier nieghborhoods are, but I know that I fear certain areas on the Eastside and some areas on the south, north and the west side as well. There are cultural differences on beliefs and upbringings so it can cause conflicts of interest, but I love my neighbors and my community and I have never had a problem over hear. So I beg to differ. I have to add that they have never had to scan accross my neighborhood looking for remaining body parts.
Maumi,
You really are clueless about the city of Columbus. If you think Denune is far from ghetto you are very sadly mistaken. This area of the city is consistently among the most violent parts of the city, sometimes even more violent crimes and drug activity than the near eastside.
To Mike - I like your comment. It sounds logical and workable. I guess for me the thing to remember would be to remain calm and not escalate my actions. Fear, anxiety, panic - those things just really get in the way and often make a situation go sour; clouds one’s judgement. Just follow the plan. Just follow the plan.
He can’t legally shoot them unless they force their way into his residence. I would get my weapon, load and chamber it, then call the police. If they break in before the police arrive then shoot in self defense, otherwise wait for the police to show up and restore order. I understand about things starting back up after the police leave but call them again, if they have to come back twice for the same disturbance someone is going to jail. Either way you win, either you shoot in self defense or the police get tired of responding to the same disturbance and start arresting people
It was 1:30 in the morning.
I’m sure they weren’t selling Girl Scout Cookies…and I’m real sure he probably wasn’t a helpless victim either.
This guy plead guilty of carrying a concealed weapon a year ago. It was only a matter of time.
Hmmmm…...I wonder why they were banging on the door, or better yet,
Hmmmmm…..I wonder if they were even banging on the door.
Seem to me if a group of individuals are banging on your door and you open it to fire a rifle, they are most likely going to ataack you for it.
Shots fired hitting EJ twice, hmmm could this be a coincidence??
I can’t wait till the truth comes out.
When faced with such a situation - a number of people outside your very door arguring with you and banging on your door - what is one supposed to do. Like asked in a previous comment - call police and wait for what would seem like a frighteningly long time, wondering about your safety and the safety of anyone else that might reside there? In desparate times, people do desparate things - ie - firing into the crowd. not knowing what the dispute was about, well, the outside crowd seemed to be crossing the line by actually banging on the door. I would be scared. You never really know what you would do in a similar situation.
Wow you must’ve been an eye witness to have said that he deserved being shot. Why don’t you fill us in on what happend?
Denune is far from “GHETTO”. Incidents like this are occuring more and more in every area…..it’s not just happening in the so called “GHETTO” anymore.
