Police: Burglar Broke Window, Stole Coffee-Can Money

NEWARK, Ohio – On January 25, the Newark Police reported that during the nighttime hours, someone broke a window and entered the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store on Union Street and stole an undisclosed amount of money. 

The money was located in a coffee can that was stored in a locker and money that was in a jug in the store. 

The Licking County Crime Stoppers is now offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the crime.

I truly believe that St Vincent DePaul to be a wonderful organization, however, this begs to question what business in their right mind leaves money in a jug and a coffee can????  Seriously, this sounds like an inside job.  Somebody knew the money was there.  I notice they mention nothing about other missing items…
