CPD: Argument Led To Fatal Shooting
COLUMBUS, Ohio—When police responded to a call to the scene of a serious shooting incident they found nothing but some blood in front of 1095 Mount Vernon Avenue.
Before an hour was over, they learned the victim of the shooting had died at the hospital.
Before the shift was over, they knew who the victim was, they had questioned and arrested the man they believe responsible for the shooting, and they had learned that an argument between the two middle-aged men led up to the fatal confrontation.
The dead man was identified as Clayton Thomas Lotharp, 49.
In custody tonight and charged with murder is Thomas Germany, 58, of 1035 Acheson St.
Police say the two were arguing when Germany pulled out a gun and shot Lotharp and left the scene.
The shooting occurred at 12:30 p.m., and Lotharp was pronounced dead at Grant Medical Center at 12:52 p.m.
He had been shot in the neck.
But witnesses told police that while Lotharp was laying on the ground, others who had witnessed the shooting robbed the bleeding victim of personal property he was carrying.
Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to call police at 645-4730.

I am sorry it was in broad daylight that the brazen crackheads robbed that poor man! That is actually even worse!
The only type of person that would do such a thing and that would be awake at 12:30 am would be a crackhead, it is a shame that this world has come to that, someone so lowdown to steal from a dying human being. I hope there were witnesses who saw the people who robbed that man, but I have seen how the police in bad neighborhoods react to reported crime, they don’t! Things need to change, people need to step up, they probably dont because they worry about a thug coming after them, or they feel that if they report it the police will not do anything anyway, well the sad part is, that its true.I myself was assaulted and I tried to flag down a security officer patrolling an area on the east side and that rent a cop drove away and shouted you need to call the police and did nothing, I came close to being robbed by that man, but fought back, and guess what, I am the only one who did anything about it by fighting back, because by the time I was able to get to a phone the perp. was long gone! These are sad times and the police we have out there and especially the “patroling security officers” are overpaid because they do nothing! Well maybe speed down the highway recklessly and get a slap on the wrist!

We are still living in the USA..
aren’t we?
