COLUMBUS, Ohio—Columbus police and the FBI asked for the public’s help to identify a North Side bank robbery suspect.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Friday.

A man entered the Union Savings Bank at 1330 Morse Rd. at about 10:24 a.m. Friday and was observed writing on a deposit slip at the check-writing counter.

The man approached a bank teller where he handed her a note that stated he was robbing the bank and wanted the money, according to the FBI.

The man leaned in and told the teller that he had a gun and wanted the money fast, FBI agent Harry Trombitas said.

Although no weapon was observed, the teller complied and gave the suspect a small amount of cash.

The suspect allegedly took the money and fled.

Witnesses saw the man run westbound along a fence line near a McDonald’s and possibly enter a small, dark-colored vehicle.

The suspect was described as a white male who is in his 30s.

He is 5 feet 11 inches tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a light-colored, camouflage baseball cap, blue long-sleeve denim shirt, blue jeans and dirty tennis shoes.

Anyone with any information was encouraged to contact the CPD robbery squad at 614-645-4665 or the FBI at 614-744-2168.
