Central Ohio Deals With Smaller Crime Issues

» 2 Comments | Post a Comment

CENTRAL OHIO—There are still murders, rapes, and assaults, but petty crimes are getting the attention of many residents on an everyday basis.

Cars in the Central Ohio area are being targeted for what’s inside. GPS units, purses, stereos are all being taken, and in all kinds of neighborhoods.

From near downtown to Clintonville, the stories sound the same.  Car windows are smashed out, all too often there is no suspect to be found, and no items to recover.

Pawn shops and blockwatch groups are trying to keep an eye out for anything that looks like it doesn’t fit.

The advice is simple: don’t leave valuables visible, lock your doors, and park in garages if possible.

just today my van window was smashed to smithereens and my backpack taken - the loot made off with is totally worthless to the scoundrels - papers, lots and lots of papers and a calendar.  I’d give them the bag if they had asked for it. just leave me my papers and calendar! and don’t break the window.
