Son: I Stabbed My Father Because He’s The Devil

MARION, Ohio—A man told Marion police he stabbed his father because his father was the devil.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Thursday.
Marion police received a 911 call from an elderly male at about 10:18 a.m. Thursday.
A police report said the caller was in obvious pain and in fear his son would come back in the residence.
Officers later learned from 71-year-old Clarence Layne that his son, Jeffrey Layne, tried to kill him.
Officers arrived and found Clarence on a couch bleeding profusely.
Jeffery, 41, was found in another room unarmed and covered in blood, police said.
Jeffery said he stabbed his father because he was the devil.
Clarence was transported the victim to Marion General Hospital, and he later was transferred to Grant Medical Center for treatment of a severe stab wound to the neck area. His condition was unknown at 4:30 p.m.
Jeffery Layne was arrested and transported to the Multi-County Correctional Facility for the charge of attempted murder.
The case was submitted to Marion County Prosecutor Brent Yeager for the filing of formal charges.
