Teens Suspected In Armed Robbery Of KFC
PATASKALA, Ohio—Two teenagers were arrested Saturday in connection with the robbery of a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Pataskala.
According to Pataskala police, the robbery occurred at the KFC on East Broad Street shortly after 8:30 a.m.
Police said the store manager arrived and entered the building to open the store when two suspects entered behind him, showing a handgun and demanding that he open the safe.
The manager complied and the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.
Witnesses in the area were able to provide a description of a possible vehicle involved.
An alert was issued by police and Gahanna police located and stopped a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses.
Pataskala detectives traveled to Gahanna, where they located the weapons, cash and other evidence in connection with the robbery.
The suspects were taken to Pataskala for further investigation.
Deonte France, 19, of Pataskala, and a 17-year-old juvenile were arrested and charged with robbery.
France was taken to the Licking County Jail.
The robbery remains under investigation.
