2 Arrested At DUI Checkpoint

OBETZ, Ohio – The Franklin County DUI Taskforce conducted a sobriety checkpoint late Friday night into the early morning on Saturday.  According to a release put out by the Task Force, over 340 cars drove through the checkpoint last night.  Two people were arrested for driving under the influence, eight citations were issued and two vehicles were impounded.  In addition to OVI arrests, two people were charged with a drug offense and one person arrested for an outstanding warrant.  The checkpoint was in operation on Groveport Pike west of Alum Creek Drive.

Wonderful. A “free country” pulling people over for no reason then arresting some of them. Whatever happened to “probable cause”?

What’s next? Walking on the street and some cop asking “Papers, please?“
