Victim Shoots Suspect After Robbery Outside Wendy’s

GROVE CITY, Ohio—Police are investigating a robbery and shooting—that ended in the shooting of the robbery suspect at the hand of the victim.

At about 11 a.m., Grove City police received a 911 call from a man who had been robbed in the 3400 block of Broadway at a Wendy’s location.

Police said the victim said a man approached him with a gun and demanded money.

The victim surrendered his wallet, but pulled out a firearm and fired at the suspect.

The victim told police he thought a bullet struck the suspect because he fell into the street, got up and ran away.

A short time later, a call was received from a resident in the village of Urbancrest, near Grove City, about a person who was outside bleeding heavily from a gunshot wound.

Police investigated and determined that the bleeding man was the suspect in the robbery.

Emergency crews transported the suspect to Grant Medical Center.

Police said the 911 caller from Urbancrest took the suspect’s clothes, robbery victim’s wallet and firearm used in the robbery and hid them inside their home.

Police obtained a search warrant for the home, found the items inside and arrested the resident on charges of tampering with evidence.

The robbery victim has a concealed carry permit in Florida and Ohio—and was legally in possession of the firearm.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Always shoot to stop the threat. If he could get up and run and was still breathing he was still a threat to the rest of the world. TWO SHOTS CENTER MASS

The man that hid the gun should have to do as much time as the suspect. That would make people think before they became complicit . Our laws should be used to protect the innocent and shape society so that the criminals receive justice. The use of a deadly weapon in the act of a crime should bring the most severe punishment the law will permit.

What??!! Nothing from Obama?  No comment about how this man “acted stupidly”?  Time for another Beer Summit….

Another point for the good guys!

Clearly a case where the concealed carry laws worked the way they were suppossed to. The good guy was able to defend himself against the bad guy. The bad guy now goes to jail with a painful hole in his side. A good lesson to remind crooks everywhere why you don’t commit robbery.

I think the thugs are going to see more of innocent people fighting back.  Good show!

What a shame, the little thug didn’t pull off his heist.  Maybe this will give his little thundercat pals something to think about when they go out to take what’s not their’s just because they have a gun.

Give that man a medal!

Too bad his aim isn’t as good as the 70 year-old victim from last week.
