COLUMBUS, Ohio—A 21-year-old woman is arrested, accused in a bank robbery on the city’s west side Monday.

According to the FBI, a woman wearing dark sunglasses entered the Huntington Bank at 121 Georgesville Road at about 3 p.m. Monday and handed a teller a note stating that she was robbing the bank and would shoot everyone inside if the teller did not give her money.

The woman kept her hand inside her purse as though she might have had a weapon, but no gun was observed.

The teller complied and gave the robber money from her drawer.

The woman took the money and fled the bank.

Witnesses said they saw a tattoo on the back of the robber’s neck as she exited the bank.

Other witnesses said they saw the robber enter the driver’s side of a 1990s turquoise-colored Honda Accord bearing a California license plate and drive away.

The robber was described as a white female in her 20s, 5 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build. She had brown hair pulled into a ponytail and was wearing a black T-shirt, tight black pants and black shoes.

Law enforcement including the Franklin County Sheriff’s office located the suspect vehicle parked at a residence near the bank.

Detectives identified the robber as Ashley M. Croy, of Appleway Drive in Columbus. She was charged with robbing the bank.

Investigators said the money was recovered and they believe Croy acted alone in the robbery.
