COLUMBUS, Ohio—A driver allegedly drove the wrong way on the interstate for 10 miles, but that wasn’t the most shocking part of the woman’s crime.

In addition to cocaine, authorities said they found a toddler in the back seat of the vehicle.

NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Thursday.

Lindsay Thompson, 23, was arrested early Thursday on several charges after she was stopped going northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 71 close to 4 a.m. New Year’s Day, according to the Delaware County sheriff’s department.

Columbus police said they received calls about a wrong-way driver at I-71 and Morse Road at about the same time, but no one was around when they arrived.

Delaware County sheriff’s office got calls from drivers in the county who said they had to drive off the roadway to get out of her way.

She eventually was pulled over by sheriff’s deputies and was charged with DUI, drug possession, endangering a child and speeding.

She told sheriff’s deputies she had been partying with friend in the Sullivant Avenue area and was driving home. Thompson lives in Columbus, not Delaware County.
Her son was turned over to Franklin County Children Services.
