1 Dies In Crash; 2nd Victim Calls 911 2 Hours Later

UPDATE: The Franklin County sheriff’s office releases the name of the man who died after his truck crashed into a ditch Thursday night.
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio—One man was killed and another was seriously injured after a truck crashed into a ditch Thursday night.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS Friday.
It was two hours before one of the men regained consciousness and could call the authorities.
The Franklin County sheriff’s office continued to investigate the fatal crash that occurred on state Route 104, north of Stringtown Road in Jackson Township at about 9:15 p.m.
The sheriff’s office said a gray Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound on SR 104 when it went off the roadway and rolled over down a hill and into a shallow creek.
The driver, 28-year-old Shawn L. Heskamp from Circleville, died on scene.
James K. Harmon, 39, of Columbus, was the passenger and was Med-Flighted to Grant Medical Center in serious condition.
Harmon said he was unconscious from the time the crash happened close to 9:15 p.m. until he came to close to 11:40 p.m.
The sheriff’s office was unsure whether alcohol or speed were factors. Seat belts were in use, and weather was a not a factor.
