COLUMBUS, Ohio—It was a busy overnight for Columbus firefighters. Crews were called out to three separate fires.
NBC 4’s Tom Brockman reported with the FAST FACTS Tuesday.
A Southeast Side corner market was destroyed by fire late Monday night.
The Stanley Market on Stanley Avenue was closed for the night when the fire started close to 10:45 p.m.
The fire originated in multiple areas of the structure. The cause of the fire has been ruled arson and remained under investigation. Damage was estimated at $90,000.
Arson investigators also were called out to the old Germaine Amphitheater close to 1:30 a.m. Crews found a storage building was engulfed in flames. The building was destroyed.
Investigators were called out because firefighters said the vacant property doesn’t have electricity or water.
Firefighters were called back to the South Side just before 5 a.m. when a house on East Welch Avenue also caught fire. The Red Cross was called out to help the family. No one was injured.
