Columbus police said a Hispanic male walked into the Microtel Inn & Suites at 5655 Feder Rd. around 7 a.m. He asked for an application, left and came back into the building a few minutes later.

Two days later, police said a man who fit the same description showed up at Hampton Inn & Suites at 3950 Lyman Dr. in Hilliard. The same sort of robbery took place.
Authorities described the man as Hispanic, 22 to 30 years old, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds and between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall.
His vehicle was described as a dark blue Dodge Stratus.
