Hispanic Leaders Meet Saturday To Plan BMV Legal Challenge
COLUMBUS, Ohio—Leaders in Ohio’s Hispanic community will gather Saturday morning at the Westland Mall to organize their anger and frustration into a plan. Earlier this month, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles closed a legal loophole allowing undocumented workers to register their vehicles using the power-of-attorney process.
More than 47,000 people have been asked to prove they live in Ohio in order to keep their vehicle registrations. Some Hispanics argue they are being unfairly targeted by the change.
“It’s the enforcement of the law that is oppressing. We have to deal with oppression at this point in time, and that’s the bottom line,“ said Gloria Schanely, one of the meeting’s organizers.
The BMV said it is not targeting anyone in the community but acknowledged it is being aggressive in closing the legal loophole.
Organizers expect about 200 people to attend the Westland Mall meeting Saturday at 11 a.m.

sorry for your luck MyThoughts—-by the way I’m 1/2 Irish and last time I checked—they did and still are doing a lot of the building here in America—worked the skyscrapers when no one else wanted— and went deep into the earth to dig tunnels—look up “sandhogs”—and yes we are all guilty of trying to get away from our obligations but it is time that we all stand up and make it better—and latino refers to more than people from mexico -and for someone who sounds so angry you might want to pick up that Bible one more time.
There hasnt been no american ever hit anyone with no one with no insurance? come on give a break people. My car was once totaled by a company truck that had no insurance leaving me at a young age and can barly walk because of my back. oh AND HE WAS INTOXICATED. then he filed bankrupsy so i couldnt take leagle action on him. HE WAS AMERICAN!!!!!!!! The latinos cant even get insurance because people like you just wanna knock them down and descriminate. Its your fault they can’t get insurance because you want to descriminate. so blame your self. There is good and bad in all people. They was good enough to come here and build our counrty up why you lazy people set back and collect checks and run your mouth. Just something to pass you time .
So what if they speak another language as long as they aint talking to you dont worry about. If its that big of a problem and your so educated and better than them then go back to school and you learn thier language. this country does have a freedom of speach, you say what you want to say and so will they.

WAITING FOR A HAND OUT!!!!! AND NOW YOU WANNA GET MAD CAUSE THEY ARE STARTING TO SPORT AROUND ALL THESE NICE AUTOS AND LIVE IN NICER HOUSING . DONT BE JELOUS NOW.
My great grandparents came off the boat and they too wanted nothing more than to become citizens and they made sure their kids learned English and were schooled—they did not burden the schools with English as a second language—the kids spoke English period—my car was totaled by an uninsured driver(not sure what country he was from) jan2008 and I’m still trying to get out from under the bills—where is Ohio law on that—who is there to help the victims when these drivers disappear?? our own insurance yeah and then our rates go up—someone has to protect the people that try to do the right thing! I’m all for people who want to live here but quit making everyone change to what you want—or go home and make changes there.

if they are legal, here and insured, they have nothing to worry about. why dont all folks who do the same illegal things, drug dealers, thieves, hookers, robbers, also get together and see what they can do to keep doing what they do without getting in trouble. laws are for us all and loop holes need to be fixed. get legal or get out and im not only speaking of Hispanics as they are not the only immigrants here in our city, there are Africans, Indians, middle eastern folks all need to be legal or get in trouble.
It’s about time to check into who is driving around. I was at the corner of Sullivant and Georgesville when a car smashed the backend of a car, the car then made a u turn in the middle of the road and fled. My sister and I followed it and guess who was driving.. that’s right hispanic. We got the license number and went back to the scene. That car had been abandoned, the driver and passenger I was told were hispanic. The police came, I told them what I saw and their comment was “they are probably both stolen, it happens all the time
Get these illegal hispanic’s off the roads and stop endangering US.
