Two local parents say they don’t feel any better about a now-registered sexual offender because he already contacted their daughters.
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio —Two local parents said they don’t feel any better about a now-registered sexual offender because he already contacted their daughters.
NBC 4 reported with the FAST FACTS.
A Fairfield County parent contacted NBC 4 about an unregistered sex offender in Amanda this week.
The offender now is registered, but two local parents said they don’t feel any better because he has been in contact with their daughters.
Residents were questioning why the sexual offender still was on the streets and living near a home daycare.
Jeffrey Brisker, 21, was arrested last Friday in Fairfield County for failing to register as a sexual offender in his county of residence.
He was released from custody once he became registered.
Perry County sheriff’s deputies arrested Brisker Thursday for a probation violation stemming from a motor-vehicle accident Saturday, April 4, and charged with leaving the scene of a crime.
A magistrate released him again Friday on his own recognizance.
Polly Smith told NBC 4 her daughter and another minor were injured in the same April motor-vehicle accident.
Smith did not know Brisker was a sex offender because he was not registered in Fairfield County at the time of the accident.
She said she was stunned when she found out.
“He needs to finish whatever time he has hanging over his head. My kid was in an accident with him. We didn’t know that he was a pedophile,“ Smith said.
Smith’s daughters are students at Amanda Clearcreek and received a ride from Brisker.
Smith and another parent, George Bartram, want to know why Brisker still was on the streets of Amanda.
Smith and Bartram said Brisker has been banned from the Amanda Roller Rink for inappropriate behavior and they don’t think he should be allowed around young girls.
“My daughter comes home and says he got thrown out of the roller rink for showing nude pictures of little girls to other little girls, and they banned him from the roller rink,” Bartram said.
Brisker was calling and texting their daughters, Smith and Bartrum said.
Bartrum said Brisker was sending text messages to his 12-year-old daughter, which is a violation of the conditions of his probation.
“I just want to make sure he stands trial for what he’s done. I mean it just seems like they keep letting him out, and what’s it gonna take? Somebody’s little girl or little boy to get hurt?“ Bartrum said.
Before his arrest, Brisker was living with his mother on Julian Road near a home daycare.
The homeowner who runs the daycare said she had no idea she lived so close to a registered sex offender.
There was no word on whether Brisker would return from Perry County to Fairfield County.
Brisker’s probation officer said it’s up to Fairfield County to enforce any probation violations such as being around minors.
Brisker was scheduled to return to court Thursday, July 2, for his preliminary hearing. His final hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, July 7.
His probation officer said Fairfield County deputies would have to catch Brisker with minors to make another arrest.

I still think putting him behind bars would be a lot better and then putting a ankle bracelet on him and giving every inmate a tracker. so they will know where he is 24/7 works for me.
Maumi…
You and I have almost diametrically opposed views on pretty much every article. We’re ALMOST opposed on this one as well. While I agree that in most cases pedophiles should be castrated, either chemically or physically, then be required to wear ankle braclets with full GPS tracking if they ever are released, here is a case of a 16 year old. In a case such as this I think there may be some hope of rehab. I DO believe extremely intensive counseling, etc should have been done in a residential setting over a number of years, but I also think that when an offense is re-committed as a teenager such as at the roller rink, it’s time for that latitude to be rescinded IMMEDIATELY. That being said, now that he has been released and is living among the civilized, he needs to be monitored 24/7. (Maumi-just so we stay opposed…the best way to monitor someone like this is to make sure police have their eyes on him constantly. Therefore I propose housing him at a massage parlor where detectives hang out to wait for victimless crime perpetrators and make him work at a Dunkin Donuts where there is certain to be a constant police presence!) I know you luv me!!
I guess freedom of speech does,nt apply to ch4,s . Just the screwed up facts that ch 4 gives us and we are supposed to take their word as gospel because of their ego,s. I will say what i want then maybe ch 4 will finally get the facts straight instead of shoving graphics in our faces every five seconds when we watch the news.
Facts don’t matter? Well, they do to me. I’m not giving in. I demand facts not lies.
Facts dont matter.Just opinions.Watch what you say on here or you’ll be shutdown.
Throw this person in prison and throw the key away. sex offenders should receive life sentences behind bars and should never be shown any mercy at all. This piece of crap should be locked up forever and then no one will ever have to worry about him again.
Pandashark,
I appreciate your comment.
Channel 4 and Maumi,
This story is full of lies and domestic issues. The person interviewed is involved in a domestic issue involving Jeff’s mother. Why would Channel 4 allow such lies to become a story? They have allowed an angry person to tell lies (especially about the roller rink) and turned it into a news story. I though “accuracy matters” at channel 4? They need to pull this story until they have all the facts straight.
This boy HAS done his time.
I would like a complete apology from Donna Willis the reporter who did not check her facts.
I read the article and am saddened by how this just reinforces the stigma surrounding people who are tagged forever in Ohio as sex offenders. It is terrible that this person has made headlines, since this is the type of news that tends to push the public into supporting extremely imposing laws on these people, although this is just one person out of thousands. When reading this, please keep in mind that many of the “registered sex offenders” in Ohio were convicted prior to today’s current law, settled for plea bargains that in no way prepared them for the current legislative climate since the law was so different at the time, and in essence admitted to serious crimes that may not have occurred within the context in which they are publicized. I know nothing about this person, and as a parent, my heart goes out to anyone whose children were impacted, but I do hope to someday see an uplifting story about the person who turned his life around in the face of all of the legal adversity. NBC4-there are always horrible stories; maybe you can try to report about all of the good ones as well.
OMG….I looked this guy up and it appears that he commited the crime when he was appoximately 16 years old. I heard a rumor that the child involved was a toddler and something about his grandparents having ran a daycare. It is ridiculous that this man was even been released in the first place.
These women should be concerned, especially the homeowner who runs the daycare.
