Video Slot Machines Up For A Vote?
Published: July 21, 2009
COLUMBUS, Ohio —One local group says Ohioans should be able to vote on video slot machines.
Gov. Ted Strickland is hoping video slot machines at horse race tracks will bring in much needed revenue.
But one group called Let Ohio Vote says it should be up to voters to decide if the state has slots machines or not.
The group filed a lawsuit with the Ohio Supreme Court and hopes to put the measure on the 2010 November ballot.

Just build casinos, I drive out of state every 2-3 months and spend around 400-600 on gambling. I would guess about 65-70% of the cars in those parking lots are Ohio plates. Keep that money in the state!!!!!!
For the extreme religious fanatics, here is a fun fact. Your governor who is METHODIST, is approving the slots, right? Do METHODISTS approve of gambling? According to multiple sites and info, (fact) they DO NOT! SO, here is my two cents: he is approving this, then he is really serious, going against his religious beliefs to make Ohio some $. That is serious commitment on his part. For the people against the gambling, just give it up, it’s over now. CAN’T WAIT FOR THE CASINO ERA!
Let Ohio Vote:
Ohio did vote.
They voted wrong.
So now we’re making things right.
Also keep in mind that…If Kentucky were to get Slots before Ohio, then Ohio would start to be known as the “New Alamo”.
And if my memory serves me correctly, things didn’t turn out too well for those people either !!!
OHIO PEOPLE you re getting more and more STUPID and I mean STUPID..We have lottery and we have Bingo and you all are worried about video slots..you people do not want to see us grow..sure it may not be what you all want but there are people leaving this state to play at the casinos etc..CHURCHES TOO..I went with an elder and he won the big jackpot ..guess what..he kept it..so no excuse there..Let the tracks have it..only to makes us shine instead looking like a bunch of Donkeys..mind you which end…dont use crime either..watch the news..and also cracks me up ..local stations running ads for the hollywood casino..IN INDIANA..Ohio just doesnt get it..thank god im leaving this backward state..I dont want my new area to know im from this state..Im embarrassed..and im a native
