Alum Creek BMV Closes Its Doors Saturday

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) Deputy Registrar Agency, located at 1583 Alum Creek Dr., will close at the end of business Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009.

This is one of two Deputy Registrar Agencies that is solely state-operated. The other is located at 1970 West Broad St.
“In these tough economic times, we must do everything possible to streamline our operations,” Ohio Department of Public Safety Director Henry Guzmán said. “This consolidation will improve operating efficiencies within the BMV while maintaining driver licensing and reinstatement services in the Franklin County area.”
All of the employees currently working at the Alum Creek Deputy Registrar Agency will be assimilated into vacant positions at the West Broad Street agency and within the BMV central office.
In addition to the West Broad Street agency, there are 15 other Deputy Registrar agencies in Franklin County. Seven are within six miles of the Alum Creek location.
